Nathaniel Peets (he/him) is a second-year master's student in choral conducting at the Eastman School of Music, where he studies with Dr. William Weinert.

Last year, Nathaniel conducted a variety of ensembles at Eastman and in the surrounding community. He served as conductor for the Eastman Repertory Singers and directed BWV 69 as a part of Eastman’s Bach Cantata Series. Additionally, Nathaniel was a Conducting Fellow with the local choir First Inversion. Most recently, Nathaniel was a Conducting Fellow at the Norfolk Chamber Music Festival.

This year, Nathaniel looks forward to conducting the Eastman Repertory Singers and directing BWV 82 as a part of Eastman's Bach Cantata Series. Additionally, he will serve as the Assistant Conductor/Chorus Master for Eastman Opera Theater’s 2025–26 season under the tutelage of renowned conductor Timothy Long. Nathaniel also serves as President of the Eastman Student Chapter of the American Choral Directors' Association and Personnel Manager of the Eastman-Rochester Chorus.

In addition to his conducting pursuits, Nathaniel is also an active bass-baritone. He often sings in professional choirs in the area, including Voices, First Inversion, and others, as a section leader and/or soloist. He currently serves as a Choral Scholar at Christ Church Episcopal Church in Pittsford.

Nathaniel grew up in Webster, NY, and graduated in 2024 with a bachelor's in music education from SUNY Fredonia, where he studied voice with Joe Dan Harper.
