Grace Leung is a choral conductor, singer, and composer from Hong Kong. Leung is currently a second-year master’s student in choral conducting at the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, NY, under the teaching and guidance of Professor William Weinert.
Grace graduated from Hong Kong Baptist University (HKBU) with first-class honour in Music (composition), where she studied with Prof. Christopher J. Keyes, Dr. Matthew W. Schreibeis, and Dr. Camilo Mendez. She has written and performed various choral pieces commissioned by the Hong Kong Baptist University Christian Choir, and premiered her choral piece “Tomorrow shall be dancing day” in May 2021. Grace studied piano and flute with Ms. Rosanna Lo; voice with Ms. Rosanna Lo, Miss Alison Lau, Ms. Chan Siu Kwan, Dr. Kathrin Rundus, and Dr. Melody Sze; theory with Mr. Lim Sze Hon; choral conducting with Mr. Caleb Woo and Mr. Felix Yeung. She holds qualifications of ATCL Flute (2014) from Trinity College London. Grace was a recipient of a number of scholarships and awards, including the HKBU Admission Scholarship Scheme for Outstanding Local Students, Li Po Chun Charitable Trust Fund Scholarships, the Fung Scholarships, Dr. Stephen Chan Sacred Music Scholarship, the Hong Kong Jockey Club Scholarships, HKBU Music’s Honor Roll: Honour Students Academic Awards, and Robert P. Fountain Scholarship. Grace served the President, associate conductor, accompanist, and part leader in the HKBU Christian Choir (2017-2021), a member of Cantoria Hong Kong (2017-2021), and a member of Die Konzertisten (2018-2021). |
